If you have a Verizon Blackberry phone, and dislike the default signature that Verizon puts at the end of your emails or just want to be able to manage your accounts from a real keyboard, this post is absolutely essential.

How to Change Your Signature on a Blackberry

From the interface that is mentioned there you can manage any aspect of the email settings, up to and including changing your device. It’s AWESOME.

Just saying.

ROAD TRIP

I get to road trip today. I’m excited. It’s only to Gaylord, there won’t be much time for red roads, but I do miss the day trips to Gaylord. Hopefully I’ve set upblog picture uploading right, and I might be able to actually post from the road.

We shall see!

You are being monitored.

Two years ago I wrote a plan for the LiquidWeb Monitoring Department. At that time, the monitoring department didn’t exist anywhere but in my head. We were three people, on three different shifts, doing our own brand of monitoring, with our own work flows, and our own ideas about what should be done and why.

Reading over this page again, I am elated to find that it is exactly as I wanted it to be.

A humble beginning.

A humble beginning.

There are only two questions on the page, and they both were answered as the department grew, and got more solidly built.

These days, the department is in my thoughts all of the time. We’re monitoring more servers than ever before, and pushing ourselves harder than ever. I still believe, though, that we can do more. There’s something broken in our work flow, and I’m trying to figure it out. I have new ideas about how to build, though the building never actually stopped.

The department runs like a well oiled machine already. After I fix this one thing, it will be unbeatable.
